14 DAY TRIAL // Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore’s divorce was pronounced final precisely one week ago, 2 years after he had filed the papers and after several failed attempts at reaching a financial agreement. Despite reports, he’s yet to announce his engagement to Mila Kunis, though there are strong indications that he proposed over the summer.
The rumor isn’t exactly new but, this time, paparazzi agency X17 Online is putting all its weight behind it. Admittedly, Ashton and Mila are engaged and they’ve kept the secret for quite some time, which is strange in showbiz though it wouldn’t be particularly surprising in their case, since they have been going out of their way to keep their romance out of the tabs.
Little success they have had in this department, as you can see.
“It happened over the summer. His whole family had come out to California for Mila's birthday [on Aug. 14], and he did it then,” a spy is quoted as saying on the topic of the engagement.
The insider goes on to explain why the two might have kept the secret for so long, aside from the obvious reason of wanting to have their personal life private.
“They couldn't go public [with the engagement] until his divorce was final. Now nothing should be standing in their way,” the insider explains. In other words, an announcement might come soon.
We’d beg to differ. Clearly, Ashton was more present in the tabloids during his time with Demi Moore, but that’s mostly because she seemed to be courting media attention so he was probably just obliging her.
Mila, on the other hand, has always been more media-shy and would only do interviews when she’s contractually bound, for promotion for a movie and, even then, she refuses to take personal questions, which is something that Demi rarely did.
Since Ashton has been dating Mila, he’s been keeping an even lower profile than ever but, ironically, this has done the exact opposite to discouraging gossip. Nonetheless, even if the two are engaged, chances are slim they would be releasing an “announcement” as many celebrity couples tend to do these days.
