The company partners with Capcom for game distribution

Leading developer and publisher of downloadable video games Gameloft has recently announced that it plans on offering titles for the mobile phones that come to the market with Google's Android 2.0 operating system on board. According to the company, it will deliver High Definition games for the next generation Android phones like the Motorola Droid and the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10.

“The arrival of this new generation of phones will allow the development of High Definition games that make the most of the technological capacity and the speed of execution offered by the new Android phones. Consumers will benefit from a top quality gaming experience,” says Gonzague de Vallois, vice-president of Publishing at Gameloft.

At the same time, the company has also mentioned that it plans on providing further support for the current generation of mobile phones running under Android. A series of new titles are expected to soon arrive on the market for these handsets, including Assassin's Creed. All games will be accessible via the Android Market of from the company's website.

Additionally, Gameloft has revealed that it partners with Capcom Mobile for the publishing of six upcoming mobile titles: Resident Evil: Uprising, Street Fighter Alpha, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, Lost Planet 2, Dead Rising 2, and Where's Wally 2. The new games are set to become available for users in Europe, The Middle East, and Africa, through the company's extensive distribution channels.

According to Gameloft, its network of over 180 carriers' worldwide should prove a great distribution channel for Capcom's games. “At Gameloft we have pretty high standards when it comes to game development and distribution,” said de Vallois. “These are great titles coming from Capcom and we are very excited to partner with them to bring these games to all consumers using different distribution channels and marketing resources.”
