With Adam Lambert’s Rolling Stone “coming out” issue already on newsstands, fans are reportedly flocking to show their support for the upcoming music sensation on various forums and Adam-dedicated online communities. Celebrities are also joining in with praises for the courageous, albeit completely unsurprising, decision that Lambert made to come out publicly, but one star who will never do so is rocker / director Rob Zombie.

The shock rocker, now focusing on his movie career with the sequel “H2: Halloween 2,” is speaking out on the already much-debated topic of whether Lambert deserves the kind of media attention he’s getting. Zombie, for one, says that he doesn’t, even if he has a brilliant voice. According to the rocker, as quoted by The Examiner, Adam simply doesn’t have what it takes to become the industry’s next biggest thing and, what’s even worse, there’s nothing he can do about it.

“I’m sure Adam can [expletive]-ing sing 10 times better than Mick Jagger, but who gives a [expletive].” The Examiner quotes Zombie as saying. “He ain’t [expletive]-king Mick Jagger. You know what I mean? There are probably a million guitar players in the world better than Keith Richards, but they ain’t [expletive]-ing Keith Richards! I’m not a big fan of the thought that you can become a star by winning a contest. I’m sort of old-fashioned? I think people need to get out there and they need to work and they need to do their music because they love it.” the controversial director adds.

According to Zombie, all this hype around Glambert, as Adam has been dubbed by the media for his flamboyant style and off-the-wall performances, is completely unjustified. However, the rocker doesn’t really mean this as an offense to Lambert himself, since this is something that applies to the current music industry as a whole. The public wants stars, the media creates them, but there’s really not much to them, and the same may also apply to Lambert, Zombie seems to be saying.

“If they become successful, then great, and if they are not, whatever? That’s the way the chips may fall. I just get disgusted watching people crying that it should have been them, that they’re a star, that they’re special. You know what? [Expletive] you!” Rob Zombie concludes by saying. As The Examiner points out, waiting for a Rob Zombie – Adam Lambert duet would probably be rather childish at this point.
