More and more celebrities are joining various organizations to bring relief to the victims of the earthquakes in Haiti. The lineup for the upcoming telethon, which will air on most US networks from several cities around the world, is constantly modified to include more stars, while other celebrities are doing their best to help raise awareness on the need to donate for the victims. Adam Lambert is also one of these celebrities, ET says.

The American Idol “wild child,” as he’s often referred to in the media, has joined forces with the Red Cross and Entertainment Tonight in a campaign to raise funds and awareness on the situation in Haiti. A PSA with Lambert has just been released, with the singer urging viewers to act and not simply let the pictures of the disaster in Haiti “fade to black” and actually do something about it, by making a donation no matter how small or apparently insignificant.

“The people of Haiti need your help,” Lambert says in the video just released. “The images are heartbreaking, the loss of life devastating, but tonight you can help the people of Haiti. Give whatever you can. Your contributions can help end the unimaginable suffering. Do something that will change a life, do something that will make a difference. Don’t just let the images on television fade to black,” the singer goes on to say.

The campaign sees the Red Cross and ET working together in a bid to get people to donate and then provide relief for the victims of the earthquakes. “How you can help: Financial donations can be made at www.redcross.org, 1-800-REDCROSS or 1-800-257-7575 (Spanish) or mail your donation to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, D.C. 20013 or to your local American Red Cross chapter. The public can also help by texting ‘Haiti’ to 90999 to send a $10 donation to the Red Cross, through an effort backed by the U.S. State Department,” ET says for those interested in lending a helping hand.

The same publication also hints that the campaign will include other members of the Hollywood community as well, with Adam possibly being just the first to campaign for Haiti relief. Similar celebrity-promoted initiatives include the above-mentioned telethon and Wyclef Jean’s Yele Haiti foundation.
