Sonic Powered's action RPG, From the Abyss has been announced by Aksys Games exclusively for the Nintendo DS consoles, with a release date set sometime during this fall. Described as "an epic multiplayer action RPG", the game promises to be a delight especially for players who experience the genre for the first time, while being challenging enough for the more experienced players as well.

If you choose to play the game, you will be able to explore the vast world of Rubenhaut through a unique world creation engine designed exclusively for Sonic Powered's title. The game also features an intuitive control scheme, lavish artwork, and an engaging 2 player co-op battle system.

"From the Abyss can be enjoyed by people who are new to the action RPG genre but challenging enough for experienced players alike", said Nobara Ogawa, Project Lead, Aksys Games. "Regardless of your skill level, you'll find yourself enthralled in the abyss."

Among the key features to be offered by the game for all DS owners who will decide to purchase it, we'll have the option to create our own, unique Abyss - meaning that every time we start a new journey, the game will randomly generate a custom world, thus providing us a unique experience every time. Which further means that we could label the game as a classic dungeon crawling one.

Also, we'll be able to fully customize our character, distributing the skill points as we see fit, opting to develop our hero into a mighty warrior or a powerful spell caster. And if that is not enough, we'll also be able to steal the souls of our enemies in From the Abyss and the enemy's techniques and use them to turn the tide of the battle.

Of course, one of the most important aspects of the game will be its two player co-op mode, which will allow us to connect with our friends wirelessly and work together on defeating the Dark Lord of the Abyss. We don't know yet what the required age is to play the game, since it was not rated yet by the ESRB, but we're sure we'll find out sooner rather than later.
