Introduced earlier this year, Acer's Iconia series of mobile devices is about to make its entry on the market. The Iconia Tab A500 Honeycomb tablet is one of the first devices of the series to make its debut in various part of the world.

Currently, the tablet is available for purchase in several countries, but it is expected that Acer will release the Iconia Tab A500 worldwide by the end of the year.

OfficeMax is the last major retailer on the list that has confirmed it will sell the Acer Iconia Tab A500 in the near future.

According to the retailer, the Acer Iconia Tab A500 will be available in all of its more than 900 retail locations in United Stated and online via its webstore.

The tablet will be available for purchase via OfficeMax for $449.99 starting today. It appears that OfficeMax will sell the Wi-Fi only 16GB version model.

We are excited to offer Acer’s new Iconia Tab A500 in all OfficeMax’s retail locations and online,” said Ryan Vero, EVP and chief merchandising officer for OfficeMax.

Its light-weight, slim design and exceptional operating platform is designed for customers who prefer a smaller-sized tablet. The power, speed and versatility behind the Iconia Tab create an enjoyable user experience,” added Vero.

Acer Iconia Tab A500 comes with a large 10.1-inch LCD multi-touch display and runs Google's Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) operating system.

Furthermore, the tablet features the manufacturer's proprietary Acer UI with custom home screen widgets that helps users organize applications on the go.

Equipped with a dual-core 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor and integrated GeForce GPU, the Iconia Tab A500 offers users enhanced HD gaming performance, 1080p video and faster browsing, as well as running multiple applications.

The tablet comes with both 5-megapixel main camera and 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat.
