After showcasing an important number of Android smartphones and tablets at this year's exhibitions, Acer has finally unveiled further details about their prices and launch dates.

Two tablets introduced at the 2011 Mobile World Congress are preparing to hit the stores in UK in April and May.

Acer Iconia Tab A100 is the smallest and the cheapest of the two and is expected to hit the shelves in May.

Although the Honeycomb tablet is priced at only £329, it is powered by a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor.

The standard Iconia Tab A100 lacks 3G connectivity, but customers will be able to buy the HSDPA-enabled version in June for £100 more.

The Iconia Tab A100 comes with a 7-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors and 600 x 1024 pixels resolution. It features Acer UI on top and packs 8 GB storage space, 512 MB RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Acer Iconia Tab A500 is an improved version of the Iconia Tab A100, as it features a larger 10-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen with 262K colors and 800 x 1280 pixels resolution.

It is powered by the same 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor and runs on Android Honeycomb platform with Acer UI.

The tablet packs either 16 or 32GB of internal memory, 1GB RAM, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, 5-megapixel camera, as well as 2-megapixel front facing camera.

It will become available in the UK on April 8th and will be retailed for £449, Wi-Fi-only. Another 3G-enabled version labeled Acer Iconia A501 will be released a month later for £549.

Both Honeycomb tablets are expected to become available through big retailers such as, Amazon UK, Comet, John Lewis, HMV and Harrods.
