Australian wireless carrier Telstra is gearing up for the release of two new Android-based devices from Motorola Mobility, the namely the Motorola ATRIX and the XOOM, both of which should be released in about one month from now.

Previously, the carrier confirmed plans to bring the two devices to its airwaves in the near future, but did not offer specific info on the availability or price tag they would sport when released.

However, the company has just confirmed that they would both feature a price tag of $840 when made available for purchase, which might be a little too much for some users, that's for sure.

Moreover, info on the release dates for these devices also emerged, with ATRIX said to have been slated for a June 7th launch, and with XOOM expected to hit shelves on May 24th.

The Motorola XOOM would arrive with 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity capabilities, but users would also be able to purchase WiFi-only versions, it seems.

Unfortunately, the tablet PC won't allow for the available memory to be expanded just yet, as a software update from Motorola to enable it is expected.

Although in the United States the device is set to receive LTE connectivity, the Australian flavor for the device won't suffer the same fortunate fate. The tablet can be seen on the carrier's website here.

As for the Motorola ATRIX, it was announced to the world back in January as the most powerful smartphone at the time, with a dual-core 1GHz application processor inside, and 1GB of RAM to pair with it.

In the meantime, however, other devices, more powerful ones, already made an appearance, and the aforementioned $840 price tag does not justify.

But the phone is listed at MobiCity at only $730, which is $110 less than what Telstra is said to plan on asking for the device.

On related news, we learn that, as soon as Telstra's exclusivity on these Motorola devices would end, Optus might pick them up as well, but nothing was confirmed on this for the time being.
