A new Pantech mobile phone will soon be put on sale in the United States exclusively via wireless carrier AT&T, namely the Pantech Laser. The new device should hit the shelves as the thinnest addition to the carrier's offering of quick messaging phones, and is expected to be put on sale come October 17.

The new Pantech Laser sports an ultra-slim and stylish design, featuring a 3.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, complemented by a full sliding QWERTY keyboard.

Moreover, the new mobile phone is meant to keep users easily connected with people that matter the most to them, either via email, social networking and messaging.

Some of the features and apps the handset comes to the market with include:

- AT&T Address Book –syncs contacts to an online address book so customers can access and manage their mobile contacts from their handset — or their PC. Synchronization occurs automatically when any change is made, so contact information is always backed up. - AT&T Navigator – offers turn-by-turn voice and onscreen driving directions, automatic rerouting, real-time traffic monitoring and more. AT&T Navigator is available for $9.99 per month, and new subscribers receive their first 30 days of their subscription for free. - AT&T Social Net – provides easy access to all your social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter and MySpace in one easy-to-use interface. - AT&T Mobile Share – helps customers quickly transfer photos and videos captured on their mobile phone to other destinations and allows customers to manage that content across the mobile and PC screens.

On the phone's screen, users would enjoy fast access to Drawing Commander, a feature that enables them make calls, open messages or access favorite applications through simply tracing a shape with a finger.

Moreover, the new handset was designed to prioritize the users' experience even more through enabling voice memos be recorded on the Voice Memo app, and then be shared via text.

Other features of the new device include a 3-megapixel photo snapper, with the possibility to upload pictures to social networking sites, the AT&T notes.

The Pantech Laser is set to arrive at AT&T with a price tag of $99.99 attached to it, upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate.
