Mobile phone operator AT&T announced on Thursday that its AT&T U-verse services had just been launched in parts of St. Tammany, Terrebone and Lafourche Parishes, and that residents in the area had the possibility to enjoy AT&T U-verse TV, AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet and AT&T U-verse Voice. According to the company, the services will become available for purchase starting with Monday, October 5, 2009.

“Today’s launch of AT&T U-verse reflects our commitment to make the investments necessary to start bringing consumers in Southeast Louisiana a new era of true video competition,” said William A. Oliver, president, AT&T Louisiana. “We are thrilled to start offering this innovative video choice in Southeast Louisiana. Area residents have asked for more choices in television service and today we’re delivering.”

The AT&T U-verse services, as many of you might already know, are provided over AT&T’s Internet Protocol (IP) network, and come towards users in the country as an alternative to cable services. Moreover, AT&T U-verse has been designed so as to bring together TV, broadband, home phone and wireless services in a single bill, also offering users convenience and control at the same time.

U-verse TV comes with Total Home DVR, which enables users to manage and watch recorded programs on any U-verse connected TV in the house; U-verse TV Multiview; a High Definition (HD) channel lineup with over 110 HD channels; the possibility to use a PC or phone to program DVR recordings; personalized, on-screen weather, sports, traffic and stock information via AT&T U-bar, and many more.

AT&T U-verse Voice comes with great sound quality and reliability, the carrier states, adding that it comes with great calling features, and that it brings together AT&T U-verse TV, broadband and wireless services, a combined voice mailbox for AT&T U-verse Voice and AT&T wireless messages, and a wide range of other features too. Another service now available in the area, AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet, offers speeds of up to 18Mbps, as well as access to over 20,000 hot spot locations, AT&T added.
