Wireless carrier AT&T has announced today that it has launched yet another feature for AT&T U-verse users in parts of Atlanta and surrounding areas, namely AT&T U-verse Voice. According to the company, its eligible U-verse TV customers will now have the opportunity to enjoy a next-generation digital voice service over the AT&T U-verse Internet Protocol (IP) network. In addition, the new feature will bring together home phone, wireless, broadband and TV services on one bill, enhancing the convenience and control AT&T's users can benefit from.

The AT&T U-verse service was launched in Atlanta back in May 2008, at has seen great improvements ever since, the carrier notes. Users in Atlanta and surrounding areas (Athens/Clarke, Barrow, Butts, Camden, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Floyd, Forsyth, Fulton, Glynn, Gordon, Gwinnett, Hall, Henry, Jackson, Jasper, Lamar, Madison, Newton, Oconee, Paulding, Pike, Rockdale, Spalding, Troup and Walton Counties) can now enjoy not only the already available AT&T U-verse TV and U-verse High Speed Internet services, but U-verse Voice as well.

“Our deployment of U-verse Voice is an integral part of the major investment that AT&T has delivered in Georgia as a result of progressive reform legislation that was enacted by the Georgia General Assembly and signed by Governor Perdue,” Sylvia E. Russell, AT&T Georgia president, notes. Keith Holmes, vice president and general manager, mobility and consumer markets, AT&T Georgia, added, “We are thrilled to offer this innovative service to Atlanta area customers and make the AT&T U-verse experience better once again. Just like U-verse TV has changed the way people watch television, U-verse Voice will change the way people use their home phone.”

AT&T U-verse Voice comes as a managed IP-based service and offers great sound quality and reliability to users, along with attractive calling features that combine with the AT&T U-verse TV, broadband and wireless services. Users will enjoy a single voice mailbox for both AT&T U-verse Voice and AT&T wireless messages, along with the ability to manage call preferences and settings from a PC with U-verse Central, or to view call logs from their PC or recent incoming calls on their TV Screen, as well as a wide range of other features.

There are two U-verse Voice calling plans available, U-verse Voice Unlimited, priced at $30 a month, which includes “unlimited nationwide minutes to any location in the U.S., Canada or U.S. territories,” and U-verse Voice 250, priced at $25 a month, which includes “250 Call Anywhere minutes to any location in the U.S. or U.S. territories.” Those who would like to add a second line to the primary line's calling plan can do so for only $15 a month.
