On Monday, wireless carrier AT&T announced the launch of U-verse Mobile on more handsets on its airwaves, including the BlackBerry Curve 3G (model 9300), which has just become available for purchase for its customers.

According to the company, the new application is meant to offer its users the possibility to take their U-verse TV experience on the go with them.

The application was released for all AT&T Mobility customers who own a compatible device, and can be downloaded from the BlackBerry App World.

When using U-verse Mobile, U-verse TV subscribers can enjoy a wide range of actions on their mobile devices, including access to the U-verse TV program guide or to downloadable TV shows, not to mention that they can schedule and manage their DVR recordings.

“We’re making TV content available where you want it, and on the devices that matter most to you,” said Jeff Weber, vice president of video services, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets.

“We’re proud to bring this popular app to even more U-verse TV customers with our launch on the BlackBerry Curve. U-verse Mobile is available on four major mobile operating systems, and we’ll continue to extend U-verse Mobile availability to even more devices in the future.”

Customers with qualifying plans can also use U-verse Mobile to download various shows from the available library.

“The app is available to all U-verse TV customers, and the ability to download and watch select content is available for customers that subscribe to the U300 package or higher. U-verse customers can upgrade their TV packages at any time with the Account Manager app on channel 9910 or at AT&T U-verse,” the carrier notes.

According to AT&T, the release of U-verse Mobile on BlackBerry Curve 3G shows the company's commitment to make TV watching available on more devices than before.

The carrier offers hit TV shows available on U-verse TV, U-verse Online, U-verse TV on Xbox 360, as well as on a series of handsets compatible with U-verse Mobile.

“AT&T U-verse TV is the only 100 percent Internet Protocol-based television (IPTV) service offered by a national service provider, making AT&T U-verse one of the most dynamic and feature-rich services available today,” the company announced.
