U-verse TV customers will be pleased to know that AT&T has decided to make some TV DVR enhancements while also adding a few more features to the U-verse YP.COM TV application. These changes will occur over the following weeks with absolutely no extra costs for the U-verse users.

“These new features are the latest examples of how AT&T U-verse gives you a better TV and entertainment experience, with easy to use apps and an even better DVR,” Jeff Weber, vice president of video services, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets, said. “Whether it’s making a call from your U-verse TV screen with our YP.COM TV app or bringing more functionality to our Total Home DVR, we continue to use our IP platform to give customers more control of their viewing experience and bring exciting, integrated features to the U-verse home.”

One main advantage that U-verse DVR has over the cable TV providers is the fact that users can simultaneously record up to four programs on a single DVR. The new enhancements also include the Series Priority feature, which allows users to choose the order in which the programs should be recorded. The Keep at Most feature is also quite useful, allowing the user to choose how many episodes from a series should be stored on the DVR. Series Delete can erase all the recordings stored in the DVR with just the push of a button.

Introduced in 2007, the YP.COM application has the capability of finding specific information on local businesses via zip code. The latest upgrades enable the user to make calls directly from the TV screen, employing the remote control to transfer the call on a U-verse Voice home phone. This application is cost free and it's available for all customers on channel 97.

The wide variety of applications and features is designed to create a unique viewing experience for U-verse customers, enabling them to watch up to four channels at the same time using the Multiview application or even remotely program DVR recordings via PCs or mobile devices. U-verse provides a large array of applications including the customizable AT&T U-bar, Weather On Demand, which can supply weather conditions in any city across the United States, or the Media Share app capable of streaming music and photo files from the PC straight to the TV set.
