We're about one week away from another Samsung major reveal, the Galaxy A (2017) series. The event has already been confirmed for January 5, 2017, and from what we've been able to learn, the smartphones will be available for pre-order starting the next day.

Three new Android smartphones will be announced in early January: Galaxy A3 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017), and Galaxy A7 (2017). However, some of them, like the Galaxy A7 (2017), will only be available in select markets.

Today, we have more information about two of the three smartphones that Samsung will announce next week, the Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017).

If you've been following our news feed, you probably know a bit about these smartphones' specs, but we now have even more details on what these devices have to offer.

But first of all, let's talk a bit about price. According to new reports coming from China, Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) will be available for purchase for around $380, while the Galaxy A7 (2017) will cost $425.

Keep in mind, though, that these prices are only for the Chinese market where handset makers tend to sell their products for much less.

That being said, let's see what the Galaxy A5 (2017) has to offer in terms of hardware. First of all, the smartphone features IP68 waterproof level design and sports a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

On the inside, the phone packs a 1.9GHz octa-core processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable memory. The Galaxy A5 (2017) comes with 16-megapixel cameras in the back and front, both with f/1.9 aperture.

A fingerprint sensor is included as well, along with USB Type-C port and a generous 3,000 mAh battery. The phone will ship with the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system right out of the box.

Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) features the same IP68 waterproof level design, but comes with a much larger 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with full HD (1080p) resolution.

It's got the same 1.9GHz octa-core processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM. Two 16-megapixel cameras are available in the front and back, as well as a fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C port, and a larger 3,600 mAh battery.
