Just yesterday, we reported that Samsung has started sending out invitations for an event scheduled on January 5, for the unveiling of phones in the Galaxy A series. Specs and images of the upcoming Galaxy A7 (2017) have leaked online for some time now and a retail mode video has also made its way to the Internet.

The retail mode video was leaked by SamMobile and it will be playing on Galaxy A7 (2017) phones displayed in stores. The video focuses on the phone’s rear camera capabilities, showing that it would be a good companion in vacations for snapping pictures and even selfies.

This means that the selling point for the high-end model will surely be its rear camera capabilities. The video also shows that the smartphone will come with waterproof features, but specific details are unknown at this point.

The Galaxy A7 (2017) could have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage

Official renders of the Galaxy A7 (2017) haven’t been leaked, but press renders of the Galaxy A3 (2017) and Galaxy A5 (2017) were spotted online yesterday. They reveal a sleek and smooth design, similar to previous phones in the series.

The spec sheet for the Galaxy A7 (2017) leaked earlier this month, revealing that the smartphone might come with 32GB of internal storage and 3GB of RAM. It might also have a 5.7-inch display with full HD resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass coating for additional protection.

It will also have a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and f/1.9 aperture, as well as a 16MP camera in the front for snapping selfies and conducting video calls. Moreover, it will draw power from a 3,600mAh battery and a fingerprint sensor.

The smartphone might come with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box and could receive an update to Android 7.0 Nougat next year. More information will surely be revealed in a few days, during the launch event.
