'...the quiet engineer with the faint, cheerful smile, the crisp, dark suit..."

Nintendo's late Gunpei Yokoi left a good legacy to the company. Few may know that he was the man behind Game & Watch, R.O.B., the D-pad, Kid Icarus, Fire Emblem, Metroid and the Virtual Boy. The Escapist's Lara Crigger wrote an informative about Gunpei Yokoi, "the quiet engineer with the faint, cheerful smile" and the legacy he left Nintendo fans and the company itself:

"Every gamer, every child, every person who has ever loved a Nintendo product owes their smiles to Gunpei Yokoi, the quiet engineer with the faint, cheerful smile, the crisp, dark suit and nothing much else to distinguish him, who remains a god without a name, a burnt impression upon the rock, a ghost, a myth, a memory, a legend."

It's nice to see that someone takes into consideration actually digging up for facts, rather than just flipping through a few pages on the web and copy-pasting a person's whole life's work. The truth is that Gunpei Yokoi is probably the reason why I have a job. His games, although considered childish and simple now, became the foundation of many great ideas that took off like a rocket along with newer technology and some of them still stand tall today, like Mario or Metroid.

You should really see the article. If you are a Nintendo fan, the least you can do is read about the father of what you play every day.
