Sales figures again

The holiday season for Nintendo America was a fruitful one as it practically sold all supplies of Wiis and DSs. Market research firm NPD Group confirmed the sales of one million Wii units during the period of its launching, while December alone brought sales of 1.6 million units for the DS.

The undisputed leader still keeps a good image long after the launching of its two newest products not having any trouble standing up to the rivals.

Nintendo's innovative approach on the machine's controls, the Wii Remote, also known as the "Wiimote", seems to have payed off and then some. If you think about it, a fun to use control mechanism will only add more pleasure to the game you already like playing and whoever thought about this brilliant, yet simple idea gave a new perspective on game platforms. I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo's next generation console would have brain-wave-sensitive controls.

With technology improving every day, Nintendo made the most of what was available and took off like a rocket. As awesome as it may sound, PS3 doesn't back off and claims to top Nintendo's sales soon.
