In between getting ready for the start of the upcoming E3 2011 conference, Sony Japan has just confirmed the release date and price for the high definition versions of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, and even showcased a video of the two remastered titles.

Sony started the high definition remake trend a few years ago, with the release of the God of War collection and, since then, the company pushed out more remastered PlayStation 2-era games, followed by Ubisoft or, more recently, Konami, two companies that also launched their older games in high definition.

Now, arguably one of the most expected HD collections, the Team Ico one, has received a new launch date, after being delayed earlier this year from its initial release time frame of spring, in order to give the development team more time to polish the two games.

Comprised of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, two of the most critically acclaimed games released on the PlayStation 2, the collection is now scheduled to arrive in Japan on September 22, according to Kotaku.

In the Asian country, it seems that the games are sold separately, each retailing for 3,980 yen, roughly translating to 49 US dollars.

A special pack, which includes unique packaging as well as a booklet about the creator of the two games, Fumito Ueda, published by Japanese magazine Brutus, will also be released, costing 6,980 yen, or $87.

North American and European gamers can expect prices to be lowered when the Team Ico collection hits their shores, however, as Sony's previous high definition remakes weren't priced that high.

Until Sony confirms the release date of the collection in America or Europe, a new video has also appeared, showcasing the two remastered games in their high definition glory as opposed to the original footage from the PlayStation 2 editions.
