With Sense included, it seems

One of the nicest handsets that was launched last year with Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system on board is the HTC Touch Pro2, a device that should receive an update to the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system from Sprint as soon as this Friday. The handset arrived at the carrier more than half a year ago, while the Windows Mobile 6.5 platform was launched in October, yet the wireless operator took its time before preparing the update for Touch Pro2, it seems.

Other mobile phone carriers in the United states already stepped up and released software updates for their own Touch Pro2 devices (AT&T launched it as Tilt2 with Windows Mobile 6.5 right from the start), and now Sprint's users can also benefit from the goodies the OS has in store for them. Of course, when taking into consideration the fact that Windows Phone 7 is only a few months away, the update might not seem as appealing as before, but it is still a software update, and it should offer enhanced functionality to the mobile phone's owners.

Sprint posted a Small Business catalog not too long ago, showing the that update is set to arrive on Touch Pro2 devices before the end of March, yet now the guys over at PPCGeeks managed to publish an image taken from an internal document, showing that Friday, March 19 is the happy day for handset's users. Moreover, other PPCGeeks members also confirmed the date for the Windows Mobile 6.5 update, it seems.

Among the goodies that will arrive on Touch Pro2, we can count not only the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, but also the Sense user experience from HTC, as well as enhanced integration with the platform. Verizon and T-Mobile already released the software solution for their models back in January, and we can only hope that Sprint's users will benefit from it as well. Sprint hasn't yet confirmed the release of the update, but it should announce it in the very near future, so stay tuned.
