Wireless carrier T-Mobile announced not too long ago that it planned on releasing a software update for two of its handsets that were powered by Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system, namely the Dash 3G and HTC Touch Pro2, and now the updates are already available. They were initially expected to land on January 20, but now a download link is already available, so those interested in getting the latest flavor of the OS on their handsets can do so.

As many of you might already know, the HTC Touch Pro2 is expected to receive a little more than just Windows Mobile 6.5 with this update. HTC's Sense solution will also come around to those going for the update, and that should prove a great enhancement to the device. The Taiwanese mobile-phone maker already announced that it planned on including Sense in almost all of its handsets, regardless of the mobile platform they were running under, and Touch Pro2 is one of those to receive it.

In addition to this, users will also get the chance to taste the goodies Microsoft has included in the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, such as a fast access to the Windows Marketplace for Mobile, MyPhone or other services. Overall, WM 6.5 should enhance the user experience when compared with the current WM 6.1 flavor that runs on the phone, even if the changes are not outstanding, as it has been shown before.

What T-Mobile customers that own a Dash 3G or an HTC Touch Pro2 should do to get the new OS flavor on their handsets is pretty simple. Head over to the download web page here, and enter the 15-digit IMEI number of the handset to get the update. All the necessary instructions regarding the update process will be delivered as soon as the IMEI is entered there, so go ahead and give it a try. You should also consider performing a backup of your device before proceeding, so as not to lose important info or files on the handset.
