Samsung Fascinate Confirmed for September 9th Launch

Samsung Fascinate, Verizon Wireless' flavor of Galaxy S, has been confirmed as set to be released on shelves come September 9.

Following a long series of rumors regarding the handset's landing on Verizon's network, the confirmation on its availability comes from Samsung themselves, via a newly aired commercial.

According to a recent article on phonedog, this would be the same commercial that emerged last week, only that Samsung modified it a little to unveil the release date.

Basically, instead of saying at the end that the Samsung Fascinate is “Coming Soon to Verizon,” the ad says that it is “available Sept. 9 at Verizon.”

The commercial is unavailable online for the time being, but those who missed the old ad can have a look at it at the bottom of this article.

In addition to the release date of Fascinate, some details on the handset's pricing also emerged, unveiling the fact that it should cost $199.99 when purchased with a new contract agreement with Big Red.

Since there are only two days left until the phone would arrive at the carrier, it's rather strange that the company did not make an official announcement as of yet, though it still has enough time to do so.

Those Verizon Wireless customers interested in the purchase of the new Android-based device from Samsung would be able to taste great performance levels with it, that's for sure.

The handset packs a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display, a 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird Application Processor, and enough storage space to enable users carry around all the multimedia files they like to.

Moreover, it comes with support for social networking sites, as well as support for Google services, including Google Mobile Services, including, Gmail, YouTube, Android Market and more.

When released on Verizon's airwaves, the Fascinate should include V CAST Music with Rhapsody, V CAST Video on Demand, Visual Voice Mail, VZ Navigator and Mobile IM, or City ID.
