All four major mobile phone carriers in the United States are set to get their share of Samsung Galaxy S, but it seems that Verizon is late to the party this time, as it is the only name on that list without a device released on its airwaves.

Big Red already announced plans to launch such a device, the Samsung Fascinate, but offered no info on when that might happen.

However, some of the latest reports on the matter suggested we're moving closer to that day, and rumors on a September 8th landing emerged not too long ago into the wild.

While there's still no confirmation on such plans from Verizon, chances are that the actual launch would take place a week later, on the 16th, as Samsung Mobile started to send out invites for an announcement set for that day.

Since the Samsung Galaxy S logo is present on the invite, and since Samsung also notes that it would unveil its Media Hub at the event, the multimedia renting/buying service on Galaxy S devices, there are great chances that Fascinate would go live on that day.

However, there are also voices pointing towards another Samsung device expected to become official for Verizon on that day, namely the Galaxy Tab.

The Android-based tablet was rumored not too long ago to be on its way to Verizon Wireless and the said event might be focus on the unveiling of this slate, it seems.

One way or the other, we should wait for September 16th to arrive to learn what Samsung plans on unveiling.

Until that would happen, one can take a look at a series of live photos with Verizon's Samsung Fascinate (available courtesy of BGR), to make a better idea of how it would look like, though it is not different from other Galaxy S models out there.

Fascinate comes with a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 1GHz processor, a 5MP photos snapper, 720p HD video recording and playback, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, CDMA connectivity, and more.
