You just need to access a site

We recently reported that, due to a manufacturing plant error, a lot of Fable II Collector's Editions had been shipped to stores without one of the most important and expected features, the codes for special DLC weapons and features.

Microsoft was quick to observe the problem but due to the big number of copies which didn't have the codes, it was very hard for the company to find a solution for all of the angry customers who had paid good money only to find that their eagerly anticipated game didn't have one of its most interesting features.

Thus, the company just announced having opened up a site where people who had bought the Collector's Edition of the game but hadn’t received their codes could enter their Live ID and the codes would be shipped within ten working days. The company also took some measures to prevent people from abusing the service and demanding codes in case they hadn't bought the limited edition game.

“We are incredibly sorry and apologize to anyone frustrated by this process. We have been focused on ensuring that our North American LCE customers impacted by this retail issue are quickly taken care of and receive their codes in a timely manner. It was the quickest solution we could implement to address the issue. Microsoft will be monitoring submissions from users looking to abuse the system but I can’t discuss what those measures specific to this solution are,” said Sam Van Tilburgh, community manager for the developer of the game, Lionhead.

Although it is good to hear that Microsoft managed to solve this very serious problem, the idea is standing still: if the company had been more careful with the manufacturing plants, this whole situation would have been avoided. Let's hope that the it won't encounter this kind of issue in the future.
