According to the latest news on the web, mobile phone users in Canada will soon be able to enjoy yet another new messaging device that comes towards them from South Korean handset maker LG Electronics, namely the LG Rumor 2, which has been recently launched onto the US market through Sprint and Alltel.

The device will come to Canadians with a slightly different name, as it will be called LG Rumour 2, and will become available on the airwaves of Bell Mobility, the wireless carrier that is also expected to release the newly announced Palm Pre in the country.

The messaging phone comes as a successor of the already known LG Rumor, and has about the same looks, only that it now includes a 4-row QWERTY keyboard, which is meant to ease the typing for all those texting enthusiasts in Canada (it sports an ‘emoticon’ key, as well as directional arrows). In addition, the handset also comes with a 2-inch QVGA display, as well as with a 1.3-megapixel photo snapper with video recording capabilities.

The feature list of the LG Rumour 2 shows that users will be able to enjoy additional functionalities, including a GPS receiver, Bluetooth connectivity, microSD memory card slot with support for up to 16GB of additional storage space, speakerphone or a 2.5mm stereo headset jack.

The LG Rumour 2 is expected to reach the carrier's airwaves as soon as June 9, and it seems that the price tag for the phone has been set at $69.95 for those who opt for a 3-year contract agreement with the company. The handset can also be purchased for $119.95 with a 2-year contract agreement, $219.95 with a contract for 1 year, and $269.95 free of contract or on a pre-pay basis.
