Enabling 720p video recording and mobile hotspot functionality

DROID Incredible is shaping up as one of the most interesting stories in Verizon Wireless' history. This high-end mobile phone was released on Big Red's airwaves about two months ago, and has been shipping out to users with delays ever since. However, while the stock issues with the device are in a continuous loop, some good news also emerged on it, including info on soon to come software upgrade.

No specific details on whether this would be the actual Android 2.2 Foryo upgrade emerged at the moment, but some highly appealing features are certainly on their way to the device. Among them, we can count support for 720p video recording for the handset's camera (an 8-megapixel photo snapper would certainly love being able to do recordings of this kind), along with mobile hotspot functionality.

On top of that, the DROID red eye boot animation should also arrive on the Android-based handset at Verizon, making it a little more appealing than before. Given the fact that Google packed the hotspot feature into its Android 2.2 operating system, chances are that the software update in question is indeed the Froyo upgrade Verizon and HTC are readying for the DROID Incredible.

According to a recent post on Droid-Life, as soon as the software update is pushed to DROID Incredible, the handset's owners should see it booting up as in the video below. Providing that Verizon and HTC manage to solve the stock issues with the mobile phone, DROID X would certainly have a great competitor on the airwaves of its carrier.

For the time being, no info surfaced on when this rumored software update would become available for the users of a DROID Incredible on Verizon. Hopefully, it would be pushed out before the next DROID lands on the carrier's shelves, and users won't be tempted anymore to switch orders to the newer device. Keep an eye on this space for further updates on the matter.
