We have two Weekend Reading features this time around, one focusing on the need for a second hand market which includes big publishers and another talking about the impact that the impending launches of the PlayStation Portable 2 from Sony and the Nintendo 3DS will have on the video game world this year.

We also continued to deliver Incoming 2011 content this week, showing off the biggest titles that gamers will be able to play with this year, and there's an EndWeekGame piece about how Dead Space 2 is going to dominate our night during the two days off.

We also have a review for charming low profile title Influence.

And, as usual, we have picks for the most important new stories of the week that was.

Monday was all about last year's best seller Call of Duty: Black Ops, the first-person shooter from Treyarch and Activision, with the developers releasing a new patch for the game just as a United Kingdom organization called Gamer's Voice complained about the problems PC and PS3 based gamers have had with it to the Office of Fair Trading.

On Tuesday, a leak offered gamers a first look at the then almost official PlayStation Portable 2 handheld from Sony while publisher Konami offered a deluge of information on its new horror based title Silent Hill: Downpour, which pits a convict against the terror filled town.

On Wednesday, in the aftermath of a terrorist attack on a Moscow airport, the Russian media was quick to link the action of a lone individual with the video game Modern Warfare 2, with one so-called expert saying that they can be used as training tools.

On the same day, Ubisoft commented on the release schedule for Assassin's Creed, saying that the quality will not register a drop.

On Thursday, Sony released the 3.56 firmware for the PlayStation 3, aiming to limit the extend of the recent security breach, while a rumor came out of BioWare saying that Star Wars: The Old Republic could be delayed until the fall.

On Friday, more information arrived about the PlayStation Portable 2 and its launch line up from Sony while Shift Unleashed 2 showed off a few new features.
