Hello and welcome to another edition of A Gamer's Week, your roundup of the most important gaming news from the past 7 days. It's been a pretty hectic time, especially since the San Diego Comic-Con started this week, and a lot of companies already prepared some big announcements for this weekend. So without further ado, here's this edition of A Gamer's Week.

Monday definitely brought some good news for racing fans as the upcoming NFS Shift title was reported to have a special Collector's Edition launched for consoles. Some special unlock codes, including one for the stunning BMW M3 GT2, will be worth your extra money. Also, Bethesda talked about raising the level cap with the launch of the upcoming Mothership Zeta DLC for Fallout 3. But don't think that this will happen, as it will certainly break the game, but in the following titles from the company a higher level cap will surely be included.

Tuesday had some good news for those still playing Call of Duty: World at War, as the title would receive a third DLC pack containing three new multiplayer maps and yet another scenario for the extremely popular Nazi Zombie cooperative mode. Speculations were plentiful that day, as a World of Warcraft fan went scooping through the texture files of the next patch and found some Halloween masks that might hint at new playable races. Don't forget to take it with a grain of salt though.

On the third day of the week, Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski revealed a few more interesting details about the upcoming All Fronts DLC pack, especially the new Dark Corners portion, which would add another chapter to the single player mode of the shooter. Wednesday was also when Blizzard and Legendary Pictures confirmed that famous director Sam Raimi would be at the helm of the World of Warcraft-inspired movie, entitled, obviously, Warcraft.

Thursday saw Rockstar announce a concrete release date for both the second DLC episode for Grand Theft Auto IV, The Ballad of Gay Tony, and the retail package that would contain this second episode and the first one, The Lost and Damned. October 29 will be the day GTA fans need to mark in their calendar. Also on Thursday, Nintendo fans received a concrete release date for the NFS Nitro title, which would be exclusive to the Wii and DS platforms. November 17 will be the day when they can put the pedal to the metal in the arcade racer.

The last day of the week saw two big announcements coming from Microsoft and Electronic Arts. The Redmond-based corporation revealed that its prestigious Halo franchise would receive an anime short film adaptation in the form of Halo Legends. EA countered with the release of the first teaser trailer for its upcoming Command & Conquer 4 strategy title. Kane is back and it seems that he brought the Tacitus to save the Earth from Tiberium infestation. Who knows though what his true plans are…

Overall, it's been a busy week but, considering that the San Diego Comic-Con is in full swing, prepare for some other big announcements next week. Until then, check out the dedicated games section here at Softpedia for all the latest news, reviews and demos.
