It's a bit far-fetched though

World of Warcraft is one of the biggest games in the world, and it is the most popular MMORPG, with over 11,5 million paying subscribers each month. As such, there is a lot of interest regarding any new updates that will be made and any new character classes or races that might be added.

The two add-ons already released for the game, The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King, have both brought forth new additions to the character and class roster in the form of the Blood Elfs or the Death Knight class, for instance. But now there is a heated debate over what the creatures in Azeroth might get upgraded in the future.

Speculation is now even more rampant, as a user discovered some very interesting textures in the newest test-version of the upcoming 3.2 patch for World of Warcraft. A few files contain four Halloween masks, which depict on one side a female and male goblin, both common in Azeroth, and a female and male wolf-like creature, which WoW players call Worgen.

This has generated a lot of rumors about the fact that the creatures will be one of the two new playable races that will be brought by the new WoW add-on, which is seemingly called Cataclysm, according to many fans.

But before you go on and believe that this is a clear confirmation, don't forget that Blizzard isn't a company that slips up now and again and won't leave any such details in a texture file included in a patch. Take it with a grain of salt and hope that we will receive some concrete details in the near future. Given how Blizzard is usually tight lipped with the press, the safest bet for us to find out new details will be the upcoming BlizzCon event, which will be held in August.
