Many believed and even more feared that Modern Warfare 2 would change the way we looked at video games and the people involved with them forever. Well, the game did just that, but in at least one way that no one could have ever anticipated. After releasing cheats for the game before it was even officially launched, the gamer community managed to pull another huge rabbit out of the hat. Forget a rabbit, what AgentGOD, as the one responsible is known, managed to do is more in the lines of pulling out the Titanic from a glass of water. First, Infinity Ward and its IWNet said that MW2 would be a lot safer and less frequented by cheaters to rui... Activision Blizzard was surely concerned about the fact that the real time strategy sequel, which has been expected by gamers for the better part of a decade, would compete directly for the money of the player with Modern Warfare 2, now out, but the developers surely have used the extra time in order to make the title even better. The problem is that gamers have not seen any part of time up close an personal and the beta stage, which was promised for late 2009 immediately after the announcement of the delay, should only come in 201... One of the things that IW used as an argument when it removed the dedicated servers and force-pushed IWNet into the game was that players wouldn't have to put up with cheaters anymore. According to it, its servers, which should be equipped with Valve Anti-Cheat, VAC for short, since they made use of Steamworks, would have an easier time getting rid of those that cheated the trained eye of the admin of a dedicated server. Well, the game wa... And it seems that the company is getting ready to out the first of the DLC packs on the PC. The dedicated fansite GTA4.net has spotted the mention of Achievements for Game for Windows Live in The Lost & Damned package and a German ratings website recently had a listing for the content on the PC.This is not in any way definitive proof th... The company has introduced the Pet Store for World of Warcraft, where one can buy, as of now, two brand-new, non-combat pets. This way, Blizzard can add the micro-transaction feature to its pay-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing game without dropping the monthly fee, but, most importantly, without bothering anybody, since the acquisitions don't really affect the gameplay. The first pet available is the Lil' K.T, a “chiby” version of the powerful necromancer of Warcraft III, Kel’Thuzad.... The level of excitement I have for the game surpasses the one I had for Borderlands, mainly because I'm a lot more attracted to the “fantasy-sword-clashing” genre than to the first-person shooters. I admit, I am fascinated by swords, since, you know, they cut people. Still, I find myself a lot calmer and more composed than I was when facing Borderlands. Gearbox's RPG-FPS had me on pins and needles hunting for weapons and items, while Dragon Age has me in a far more confortable, padded armchair, with ... From the classic problem of balancing the classes, to server issues and unsatisfactory comments regarding how Blizzard bosses run their business, every hardcore WoW fan hates the game and the company that made it. When Blizzard showed little interest in their attitude, which is perfectly normal since even if they complain they keep on playing, WoW fans decided to fight amongst themselves. Few chat windows in even fewer games have seen the slang “noob” as many times as the chat window of World of ... Steamworks was unveiled by Valve almost one year ago and the biggest video game to use it until now has been Empire: Total War from The Creative Assembly. It's interesting to see that Activision, which probably made the decision, has chosen Steamworks ove...
