14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has just announced that its cloud gaming service is now available on PC in 22 countries via browser. Suggestively named Xbox Cloud Gaming, the service allow billions of Windows 10 PC users to play games even if their rigs don't meet the hardware requirements.
As long as they have a good Internet connection, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can now play hundreds of games from the Xbox Game Pass library without having to download them. Simply go to xbox.com/play on Microsoft Edge or Chrome and you'll be able to choose whichever game you want to play.
For the time being, Xbox Cloud Gaming is available in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Korea, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
According to Microsoft, Xbox Cloud Gaming is now powered by custom Xbox Series X hardware, which means any game in the Xbox Game Pass library should work flawlessly. However, to make sure that everyone has the same smooth gaming experience and the lowest latency across the broadest set of devices, Microsoft will be streaming at 1080p and up to 60fps.
As the company is upgrading its hardware in its data centers around the globe and add more features to enhance the cloud gaming experience, the streaming quality will further be improved. Still, 1080p at 60fps is a more than decent streaming quality for a cloud gaming service.
Unlike Google Stadia and NVIDIA GeForce NOW which require subscribers to buy their games and pay a monthly fee to use their cloud streaming services, Xbox Cloud Gaming is included for free in the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
Those who haven't been subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate can try the service for three months for just $1 per month, after which the price will increase to $15 month. Even so, Xbox Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate are the best deals in the gaming industry since they not only give you access to hundreds of great games, but they also include EA Play and Xbox Cloud Gaming at no additional cost.
