14 DAY TRIAL // The sequel to the critically-acclaimed Pathfinder: Kingmaker finally has a release date. Developer Owlcat Games has just announced that Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous will launch on PC (via Steam and GOG) on September 2, slightly later than the initial “summer” time frame.
Along with the release date of their game, the studio announced that the second beta for Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is now available on Steam for backers who contributed to the title's Kickstarter or Slacker Backer campaigns in the relevant tiers.
Those who pledged their support to gain access to the beta will be able to learn even more about what the game has to offer during the title's second beta. The fine folks at Owlcat Games confirmed that new side quests have been added, as well as a talking enchanted weapon that acts as a mini-companion.
Finnean, the weapon whose development was funded after reaching a Kickstarter goal, will be available to Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous players at the Ancientries and Wonders Shop.
But wait, there's more! The second beta of the game debuts many other gameplay features, including a new weather effects system that simulates wind, snow, rain, and lightning storms, enemy dismemberment, as well as Slacker Backer-funded dinosaur pets and mounts.
Furthermore, the final UI design for most in-game systems, including combat, character creation, and inventory should be available in the second beta too, alongside enhanced tutorials for newcomers, brand-new assets, balance fixes for the Core difficulty level, and new abilities and archetypes for certain classes.
Speaking of which, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous lets players choose from no less than 25 classes, 12 character races, and more than a thousand spells, feats, and abilities. Also, the game features 10 unique companions that players can recruit to fight for them throughout their adventures.
