ZTE is a Chinese phone manufacturer which recently unveiled the Axon Phone in the US. And immediately after this device’s launch, ZTE also produced a new Android handset called the Blade D6.

Coming from the Blade family, the new arrival resembles the Blade S6 and Blade S6 Plus when it comes to design, which means it is extremely reminiscent of the Apple iPhone 6.

But despite the outer resemblance, the Blade D6 is actually a mid-range affair coming out with moderate specs. Even so, we’re dealing with a phone made up of aluminum and equipped with a 5-inch display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, meaning it’s a bit taller than Apple’s current flagship.

Apart from that, we have a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor clocked at 1.3GHz pulling the strings on the inside, in combination with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

The phone also features a 13MP main camera plus a 5MP front-facing one. To keep things running on the Blade D6, ZTE is utilizing a 2,200 mAh battery of average proportions.

The ZTE Blade D6 harbors a nifty trick

The D6 accommodates what ZTE calls the “3 in 2 innovative tray holder,” which can play nice with a regular micro SIM card, plus either a nano SIM or a microSD card.

The handset runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box with the company’s own MiFavor 3.2 UI on top. No word yet whether the device will receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop update in the future or not, but we can hope it will.

For those interested in this mid-range phone, we can tell you the ZTE Blade D6 will be made available in the next few months, although we can’t say exactly when. The company will be offering it in several color variations including silver, gold, pink and grey.

ZTE remained mum about pricing specifications, although we can assume the phone won’t be too expensive. When the time comes, the phone will arrive in retail locations in countries like Australia, Russia and Japan. It appears that the US market will be sitting this one out. Any takers for the ZTE Blade D6?
