14 DAY TRIAL // ZTE introduced the Axon earlier this year, but the smartphone wasn't really available for purchase in the United States. Instead, the Chinese company launched the Axon Pro in the US, which was available for purchase for $450.
However, beginning today, the Axon Pro variant released in the US back in July will sell for only $400 outright. That's because ZTE announced that a 64GB version of the Axon Pro is now available for purchase in the US for $450.
Along with the ZTE Axon Pro 64GB, the Chinese handset maker also introduced the mid-range Axon, which is now available for purchase via ZTE's online store, Amazon, Newegg and eBay for $330 off contract.
Both additions to the Axon family of smartphones are compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile GSM networks and come in different color options like Phthalo Blue, Ion Gold and Chromium Silver.
Also, both smartphones ship with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box but are likely to be upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow at some point next year.

The more expensive of the two, Axon Pro, is equipped with a 64-bit 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and 4GB of RAM. It packs either 32GB or 64GB of storage, but there's no microSD card slot inside.
On the back, the handset packs a 13-megapixel camera, while in the front there's a secondary 8-megapixel selfie shooter. Axon Pro boasts a stunning 5.5-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display and a non-removable 3,000 mAh battery.
The mid-range ZTE Axon comes with a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display that features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating for extra protection.
The phone is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and 2GB of RAM. It packs only 32GB and lacks microSD card slot for memory expansion.
It drains energy from a similar non-removable 3,000 mAh battery and packs dual-camera on the back (13MP + 2MP) and a secondary 8-megapixel selfie camera in the front.
