Yutopia, YU's first true flagship smartphone, made its debut on the market back in December. The device currently ships in India with Cyanogen OS 12.1 right out of the box, which is based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

If you're expecting a new software update based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, then you're going to have to wait for a while since YU has not shared details on when this particular update might go live.

The good news is YU Yutopia devices in India are now eligible for an incremental update that is meant to improve some already existent features.

According to the Indian company, the security update for YU Yutopia is available for download beginning today. However, the rollout is happening in phases, over the coming weeks, so not all Yutopia smartphones will receive the update at the same time.

Keep in mind that version YOG4PAS5W0 of the software does not change the smartphone's Cyanogen OS, which is still based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The fingerprint sensor now allows for five unlock attempts

The most significant change included in the update is related to the fingerprint sensor. YU Yutopia comes with a fingerprint sensor on the back side, right below the rear-facing camera.

YU has announced that, after the update, the fingerprint reader will allow for five attempts, although the previous version of the software only allowed for three.

Also, it's worth mentioning that once the user reaches five failed attempts, the fingerprint reader will timeout for 15 seconds. In order to make sure that you know you're at the final failed attempt, the smartphone will vibrate multiple times.

Naturally, after 15 seconds, you can try to unlock the device again with the fingerprint sensor. Last but not least, after 5 failed attempts, you will be able to unlock your YU Yutopia using the Password / PIN.

No other changes have been included in this security update, so stay tuned for more details on YU's upcoming software updates for Yutopia.
