The smartphone will be available in India from December 26

Indian company YU promised to introduce “the most powerful phone ever” on December 17. The Yutopia is a brand-new Android smartphones that will be available in India later this month.

According to YU, the Yutopia will sell for Rs 24,999 ($375 / €350) outright, which is a great price considering the phone's powerful specs.

Customers will be able to purchase the flagship smartphone exclusively via Amazon India from December 26. The sales package also includes House of Marley Little Bird in-ear headphones that features 9.2mm driver.

YU has teamed up with Airtel, so customers switching to this Indian carrier will receive a double data offer. Also, when you purchase the YU Yutopia and activate a new 4G Airtel SIM, you will be eligible for an equivalent GB of data free, valid for 6 months.

Also, the Assured Upgrade Program offers all customers who purchase the Yutopia, the option to upgrade to Yutopia 2 when the new smartphone is launched in the coming months.

YU promises that there will be an upgrade window from Yutopia 2 release date and will provide customers with 40% cash back of value of the original Yutopia model.

Cyanogen OS 12.1 and Sony rear-facing camera

Moving on to specs, YU Yutopia is a really powerful smartphone. It comes with a 5.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

At the heart of the Yutopia sits a 64-bit 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, an Adreno 430 graphics processing unit and no less than 4GB of RAM. The smartphone packs 32GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

Yutopia boasts an impressive 21-megapixel camera with Sony Exmor RS IMX230 sensor, phase detection autofocus, OIS (optical image stabilization) true tone LED flash and 4K video recording.

There's also a secondary 8-megapixel camera in the front that features an OmniVision OV8865 BSI-2 sensor, and f/2.2 aperture.

YU Yutopia is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery and runs Cyanogen OS 12.1, which is based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system.
