While everyone is talking about the Mi 6, Xiaomi's unannounced flagship smartphone, a new high-end handset wearing the Chinese company's brand has been spotted in Geekbench, a benchmark app often used by consumers to test their phones' performance.

Listed as the Xiaomi MIX EVO, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor and packs 4GB of RAM. Judging by the phone's name, this could be a follow-up of the amazing Mi MIX phablet released by Xiaomi last year.

The Chinese company used its presence at Consumers Electronics Show (CES) to introduce a white version of its highly-acclaimed Mi MIX smartphone, but no new smartphones have been unveiled during the event.

However, we believe that Xiaomi will announce new handsets next month at Mobile World Congress (MWC), which is set to take place in Barcelona, Spain, at the end of February.

We're still waiting for Xiaomi to confirm its presence at the trade fair, but if the Chinese company doesn't hold any press conference at MWC, its flagship smartphone could be unveiled at a dedicated event.

It's unclear whether or not the Mi 6 and Mi MIX EVO are different devices, but we assume they are. The listing at Geekbench confirms the Mi MIX EVO runs the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system, but that might change by the time it goes official.

Nothing else is revealed by Geekbench's database, so we don't know if it's going to pack a similar bezel-less design as the MI MIX, nor if it will be available in countries outside China.

If Xiaomi plans to launch such a phablet, we're expecting different versions of the device to be available on the market. Even the current Xiaomi Mi MIX model comes in multiple variations based on the amount of memory, so that won't come as a surprise.
