The new color flavor will be launched in China

Xiaomi had its first ever launch event at CES trade fair. The Chinese company used the opportunity to announce three new products: a smartphone, a TV, and a router.

Unfortunately, Xiaomi made headlines at CES, a US-based trade fair, to unveil products that are aimed at the … Chinese market. Neither of the devices that are now showcased at CES is going to make it to the US, or any other market for that matter, except China.

In fact, Xiaomi has been pretty clear that we shouldn't expect any smartphones to be launched in the United States throughout this year. The company's global VP, Hugo Barra, has explained that his company doesn't have “specific-enough plans yet” that it's “comfortable talking about yet.”

However, he also added that “eventually we'll make out way over here.” Xiaomi has been trying to enter the US market for quite some time now, but the Chinese company changed its strategy and is now trying to build up its operation with non-phones products.

The company already released a set-top box in the US last year and hopes to add a few more devices this year, which will not be smartphones. CNET reports that Barra said Xiaomi didn't “want to go anywhere near the half-hearted efforts to launch a brand in the US just to say we're in the US.”

In the same piece of news, Xiaomi has decided to bring a white version of its highly-acclaimed Mi Mix concept phone to the market. The white Mi Mix features a ceramic back cover, frame and side buttons.

It's been made using cantilever piezoelectric ceramic technology, which replaces the traditional earpiece speaker to allow users to listen to calls without the earpiece. The Ultrasonic proximity sensor has been hidden behind the display and replaces the traditional infrared proc sensor.

The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory (UFS 2.0 flash storage). It's also powered by a 4,400 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 technology.

Xiaomi Mi Mix boasts a huge 6.4-inch display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution, and packs a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with PDAF (phase detection autofocus). It will be available in China later this year for around $550.
