14 DAY TRIAL // Xiaomi is known to release affordable smartphones and tablets, and now the company has once again brought one such device to the market, namely the Redmi Pro. The handset has been unveiled today during an event held in Beijing and comes with some exciting specs and an affordable price.
Xiaomi Redmi Pro features a full metal body and a brushed metal finishing while 2.5D glass covers its 5.5-inch Full HD OLED display. The device has a fingerprint scanner on the front, embedded in the physical home button, just below its display. It seems that Xiaomi decided to change the position of the fingerprint scanner, considering that some of its smartphones, including Redmi Note 3, have it placed on the back.
Redmi Pro comes with a dual-camera setup on the back panel. Rear camera capacity reaches 13MP and comes with dedicated depth field image sensor, and it supports Dynamic depth field, which allows for a DSLR-like bokeh effect. Front camera capacity reaches 5MP with the ability to capture depth information.
Xiaomi's Redmi Pro comes in three variants
The smartphone is available in three variants, depending on RAM capacity and internal storage. One variant has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage while the other has the same RAM capacity but 64GB of internal storage.
The high-end model of Redmi Pro has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. In addition, the high-end model and the variant with 64GB come with a MediaTek Helio X25 64-bit deca-core processor. The base model with 32GB packs a MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core processor.
The smartphone also provides a USB Type-C port, dual SIM support, and it draws power from a 4,050mAh battery. It runs Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 and has MIUI 8 on top.
Redmi Pro will be available for the price of $225 for the base model and $255 for the variant with 64GB and 3GB of RAM. The high-end version will cost about $300.
