Xiaomi confirmed it would officially introduce its long-overdue Android flagship smartphone, the Mi5, on February 24. We're less than a day away from the launch event, and new details about the Xiaomi Mi5 have just emerged online.

One of the many retailers that will sell the Xiaomi Mi5 has just posted a placeholder for the upcoming flagship. Not only that, but the retailer confirmed the existence of a Xiaomi Mi5 Plus version, which we weren't aware of until now.

Since this is a placeholder, some of the information might not be accurate, though from what we know, retailers are always in contact with handset makers so these might just be the correct specs included in the Mi5.

If you've been keeping up with the latest information on Xiaomi Mi5, then you know that the Chinese company announced at some point that its flagship smartphone would not come with a Quad HD display.

Xiaomi let us believe that the Mi5 will, in fact, sport a full HD (1080p) display, which would require less power consumption.

Quad HD display, Snapdragon 820 CPU, 64GB storage

It turns out that the Xiaomi Mi5 will pack a 5.2-inch display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution after all. The smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, coupled with 4GB RAM and either 16 or 64GB of internal memory.

There's no mention of microSD card slot, but the Mi5 is likely to include a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash, as well as a secondary 8-megapixel camera in the front.

On the other hand, Xiaomi Mi5 Plus will boast a much larger 5.7-inch or 6-inch Quad HD display. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

Both smartphones will be available in Gold, White and Black. Xiaomi Mi5 16GB has been priced at $500 while the 64GB model costs $600. Xiaomi Mi5 Plus is also priced at $600 outright.
