14 DAY TRIAL // Xiaomi is working hard on developing two new devices that are set to launch in the second half of this year. Rumors on these smartphones continue to pour in, with the latest suggesting that they will come with advanced pressure-sensitive displays.
Xiaomi is expected to release two new flagships in the coming months, one of them being Mi5S, an upgraded version of the Mi5. The second is the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, which will be the successor to the Mi Note series of phablets was first announced last year.
GizmoChina reports that the Mi5S and Mi Note 2 could come with pressure-sensitive displays, aside from other rumored specs. What's more, sources state that the feature will be more advanced than on the Huawei Mate S, which was one of the first devices with Force Touch enabled on Android.
Rumored specs of the Xiaomi Mi5S indicate the handset will come with the same display size and resolution as the Mi5, namely 5.15 inches and 1080 x 1920 pixels. The smartphone will also have Qualcomm's Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and it is said that it might come with a dual camera.
The two devices could be revealed next month
The company's flagships phablet, the Mi Note 2 , might feature a 5.7-inch FHD display while packing a Snapdragon 821 processor inside, the same as the one expected on Samsung's Galaxy Note 7. Xiaomi's Mi Note 2 is also believed to come with Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and 6GB of RAM.
Three variants of the device could be available. One will provide 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 1080p display and a 16MP camera on the back while the second and third will feature 6GB of RAM, 64GB or 128GB of storage, a 2K curved display, and dual cameras of 12MP each, according to GizChina.
Xiaomi has recently revealed a teaser on Weibo, reading “2>5,” and a caption below that would translate as “Love it, no one lose.” The post could actually be meant for teasing the upcoming Mi Note 2 and the Mi5S. The two smartphones are said to launch in August, so more information is bound to surface soon.
