The huge 6.4-inch Mi Mix remains the only ceramic-made phone

The Mi Mix is more of a curiosity than innovation, but we have to admit that Xiaomi's phablet has really thin bezels. But aside from being almost edgeless, the Mi Mix is also … huge, due to its large 6.4-inch display.

Add the fact that it's made from ceramic and you have a very hard to protect smartphone. It's unclear why exactly the rumor started, but we do know that it's coming from China and that it's been fueled by fans' desire to have a smaller alternative at their disposal.

Last week, we reported that Xiaomi might be working on a smaller version of the Mi Mix. The new device would be called Mi Mix Nano and could have been released on the market just in time for the holiday shopping season.

However, there's no such thing as a Mi Mix Nano, a Xiaomi exec has recently confirmed. The Chinese company does not plan to introduce a smaller Mi Mix, at least not for the time being.

According to Zang Zhiyuan, “there's no such product as Xiaomi Mi Mix Nano.” The short note has been posted on Weibo, but has since been deleted for unknown reasons. That's probably the only reason Xiaomi fans should keep hoping for a smaller Mi Mix smartphone.

Now that we've cleared that up, let's take a look back and recap the Mi Mix Nano's possible specs, which were rumored about a week ago.

First of all, instead of the 6.4-inch display, the Mi Mix Nano would sport a much smaller 5.5-inch screen with full HD (1080p) resolution.

Hardware-wise, Xiaomi would have included a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory.

Obviously, the phone would have featured a full-ceramic body and an incredible screen-to-body ratio. Well, that's about it about the Mi Mix Nano, the phone that will probably never see the light of day, since it doesn't really exist.
