Microsoft has recently pushed Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.71 to slow ring users, and now it looks like the release of the operating system for Windows Phone devices is imminent.

Gabriel Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, has announced in a tweet earlier this week that once this particular build reaches the slow ring, depending on telemetry data received from insiders, the same version could be shipped to everyone.

“If reliability telemetry looks good will roll out to Slow ring then everyone,” Gabe Aul said when the company rolled out Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.71 to fast ring users.

New (and final) build coming next week?

Now that the same build is available for the slow ring, the next step is to release it to everyone, but it all depends on the feedback the company receives in the coming days. Certainly, the launch won’t take place sooner than next week, and in the meantime, Microsoft could also roll out a new build that would be shipped to everyone, including insiders and Windows Phone devices, which would include fixes for the very latest bugs.

There are some reports out there that Windows 10 Mobile 10586.104/105 is slated to go live next week, and if this is true, it could actually be the upgrade version that everyone’s expecting.

While there are some unclear details regarding the version number that Windows Phone users could get, it’s obvious that we’re approaching the release of Windows 10 Mobile. Previous reports on this, but which have never been confirmed by Microsoft, claimed that the launch would take place in mid-February, so Gabe Aul’s statement seems to come in line with the all the speculation.

Keep in mind, however, that, without a certain release date, Microsoft could push back the release at any moment should any major bug be found.
