14 DAY TRIAL // Windows 10 Mobile is the next big thing on Microsoft’s product release schedule, with sources claiming that work on this project is expected to finalize sometime this week.
But build 10586, also labeled as 1511 because it was released on November 15, is believed to be the RTM version, despite the fact that it’s currently available only for members of the Windows Insider program.
And yet, Microsoft has recently posted this particular version on MSDN, which could be another sign that this is indeed the eagerly anticipated RTM flavor of Windows 10 Mobile.
Before rushing to download it, there are several things that you should consider.
First and foremost, this is the MSDN version of the operating system, so unless you are a paying subscriber to this service, you can’t get it. Then, it’s the enterprise flavor, which comes with added security and management features.
Security improvements
Microsoft explains in the official description posted on MSDN:
“Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise is designed to deliver the best customer experience to business customers on smartphones and small tablets. Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise offers the great productivity, security and mobile device management capabilities that Windows 10 Mobile provides, and adds flexible ways for businesses to manage updates. In addition, Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise incorporates the latest security and innovation features as soon as they are available.”
And last but not least, Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise is only offered in English for now, but several other languages are very likely to be provided very soon.
This download is available to the majority of MSDN subscription levels.
Consumers waiting for Windows 10 Mobile could get the final build sometime this week, but the rollout will take places in waves, so depending on the device you own, the new operating system might not arrive sooner than February. For the moment, the fastest way to get Windows 10 Mobile seems to be an account for the Windows Insider program.
