All signs seem to point to a release very soon

The release date of Windows 10 Mobile continues to be one big enigma for each and every one of us since Microsoft remains tight-lipped during the whole time, but it appears that the debut of the rollout is just around the corner.

And what’s more, all signs seem to be pointing to the fact that Windows 10 Mobile 10586.107 (or a newer version that would only bring small changes) is likely to be the upgrade version offered to Windows Phone devices.

Build .107 was rolled out to Windows 10 Mobile insiders who participate in the fast ring last week, and after collecting feedback and improving performance of the build, the company decided to ship it to the slow ring too.

And a few hours ago, Microsoft took another step towards the release of this particular version for Windows Phone devices, as it pushed it to new Lumia phones that are not part of the Insider program, including 950, 950 XL, and 550.

Focus on upgrade performance from Windows Phone

No new features have been added in the latest builds of Windows 10 Mobile, as Microsoft has focused specifically on improving the performance of the operating system and fixing bugs and issues that were reported by insiders. But another important feature that Microsoft worked on was the upgrade experience from Windows Phone to Windows 10 Mobile, as the company wanted to make sure that the process can run smoothly on all devices.

And this particular build makes no exception, as .107 also comes with changes that are supposed to improve the transition to Windows 10 Mobile.

According to Microsoft Mexico, the Windows 10 Mobile rollout should begin on February 29, but there are reports that it has already started in some parts of the world. This means we’re only some 10 days away from the moment the OS should land on the first devices, and the remaining time could be used by Microsoft to collect the latest feedback on this build before shipping it to users (a new build that would include the latest improvements could also be released sometime next week, ahead of the public launch).

For the moment, there’s no confirmation that .107 is the upgrade version for Windows Phone devices for sure, but given all the rumors and the recent updates, the chances are that it is.
