Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 cumulative update KB4476976 for version 1809 earlier this month, but at that point, only insiders were allowed to download it.

Beginning today, cumulative update KB4476976 is available for all devices already updated to version 1809, and according to the official changelog released by Microsoft, it includes quite a plethora of improvements.

First and foremost, Windows 10 cumulative update KB4476976 increases the OS build number to 17763.292, and it resolves several issues that were caused by previous cumulative updates.

For example, KB4476976 address the bug making some apps fail to authenticate hotspots, but also the bug related to the date format for the Japanese era calendar.

There are also improvements for enterprise devices where administrators have enabled the policy to prevent users from uninstalling applications from the Start menu. Microsoft says an issue allowed users to do remove apps this way even if the policy was configured, so the release of cumulative update KB4476976 resolves this unexpected behavior.

Two known bugs

Additionally, there are refinements for AMD R600 and R700 display chipsets, as well as File Explorer improvements, as Microsoft explains:

“Addresses an issue that causes File Explorer to stop working when you click the Turn On button for the timeline feature. This issue occurs when the ‘Allow upload of user activities’ group policy is disabled.”

There are two known issues in cumulative update KB4476976, but of them have been there from the January 2019 Patch Tuesday cycle. One of them causes the loading of local pages in Microsoft Edge to fail, while the other one breaks down applications that use a Microsoft Jet database with the Microsoft Access 97 file format.

Windows 10 cumulative update KB4476976 is available right now from Windows Update on all devices running version 1809.
