WhatsApp has been working on improving the application and the service that it provides its users with, and WhatsApp beta comes with some neat features, including the message quotes and replies. Now, it seems that the new version will also boast music sharing options and many more tools.

WhatsApp beta will bring along the feature that allows users to share music with their contacts, according to German site Macerkopf. The website mentions that users will be able to share music stored locally on their devices and tracks from Apple Music.

When a track is shared, the recipient of the content will be able to see the album art and a music icon. Users simply need to tap on the icon and just listen to the track. A player icon will be available inside the application, so users can listen to multimedia files without having to close the app.

However, this is just the beta version, which means that WhatsApp could make some changes that would appear in the final product.

WhatsApp beta will come with public groups, mentions, and larger emojis

Music sharing isn’t the only new feature in WhatsApp beta version 2.16.7.257, as the application will also introduce public groups that allow anyone to join the group chat as long as they have a specific link. Group admins will be able to close the chat at any time.

What's also important is that WhatsApp will introduce a Twitter-like feature called mentions. Users will be able to tag people from their address book within a chat. It's also worth mentioning that the application comes with larger emojis, similar in size to those introduced in iOS 10.

WhatsApp launched its desktop app for Mac last month, and the application on iOS is also expected to get support for animated GIFs. As it turns out, the company is preparing some really big and exciting changes for its users on iOS.
