The saga of Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL in the United States continues with new information regarding their launch, which will certainly displease many Windows Phone fans.

Many know by now that the Lumia 950 will be exclusive to AT&T in the United States, but customers will be able to grab either of the two handsets via Microsoft's official store in the country.

The devices will come unlocked, but you will have to pay the full price or $500 and $600, respectively, if you want to own the Lumia 950 or Lumia 950 XL.

Less than two weeks ago, T-Mobile's CEO John Legere accused Microsoft of not negotiating a deal with his company though the Magenta carrier was/is open to offering both Windows 10 devices. Now it looks like another US-based carrier, Verizon, won't be selling Microsoft's smartphones.

According to WindowsCentral citing Mary Jo Foley, a trustworthy Microsoft insider, the Redmond-based company has decided to disable the CDMA radios inside its Lumia 950/Lumia 950 XL smartphones, so they won't work on Verizon's network.

Sprint has yet to confirm whether or not it will carry the Lumia 950/950 XL

Microsoft did not ask for Verizon's approval to allow its Windows 10 smartphones to be registered on its network and decided that it's better to disable this capability from within the new Lumia handsets.

Even though the smartphones are sold unlocked at Microsoft Stores in the United States, Verizon's CDMA network will not be supported since the Redmond-based company decided to disable them instead of negotiating a deal with the Big Red.

Sprint, another major carrier in the United States, has yet to let its intentions known to Microsoft, so for now AT&T will be the only network operator to offer a Windows 10 smartphone.

Soon after Microsoft unveiled its new Windows 10 devices, there were rumors claiming Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile are not at all interested in carrying these smartphones. Well, it looks like they were accurate enough since they will only be available via Microsoft Store.
