Uncharted 4: A Thief's End might be a little under two weeks away from the official launch date, but it seems that there are a number of copies of the video game in the wild. The problem is that some of those who have access to the copies have started posting information about the main plot elements and the biggest set pieces in the coming Nathan Drake adventure.

The director of the title, Bruce Straley, has taken to Twitter to warn all fans of the franchise to keep away from potential sources of spoilers because they could negatively affect their enjoyment of the video game.

He says Naughty Dog has carefully sought to preserve plenty of surprises in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End to make the experience feel fresh, something that cannot happen if gamers receive details from outside sources.

A number of copies of the game have been stolen and since then sold on the black market, but Sony claims this will not affect the official launch in any territory.

It's unclear whether the company can do anything to punish directly those who offer spoilers about Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, although publishers have sometimes sought to get those who get access to games ahead of launch banned from using Xbox Live or the PlayStation Network service.

Nathan Drake is preparing for his final adventure

The emotional impact of the upcoming video game, which spoilers can affect, is heightened by the fact that this is the final video game created by Naughty Dog that will feature this main character, with the narrative centered around his meeting with long-lost brother Sam.

The two hatch a plan to search for a legendary island called Libertalia, where pirates founded a unique society and hid a massive treasure, and they will have to make tough decisions about their own lives and the destinies of the ones they love as the narrative progresses.

Naughty Dog has already said this is the most complex title it has created. Those who complete the single-player campaign will be able to spend more time with it by jumping into competitive multiplayer modes that will feature characters from all the series and will also showcase the many magical artifacts that Nathan Drake has uncovered over time.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will only be offered on the PlayStation 4 from Sony, and the involved companies have already said they are planning to deliver DLC for it.
