Video game developer Naughty Dog and publisher Sony might have delayed Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End to next year, but the two companies have a lot of information about the core multiplayer mechanics and about the coming beta for the mode.

A Twitch stream that can be watched below in replay form features a conversation between Robert Cogburn, the lead game designer, Vinit Agarwal and Erin Daly, game designers, and Arne Meyer, director of communication, accompanied by new footage.

The new mystical powers that gamers will be able to use in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End are created because the developers are willing to deliver as much fan service as possible in this final installment in the series.

Gamers will be able to use powers including the Cintamani Stone, the Wrath of Eldorado, the Staff of Ayar Manco, which is new and tracks enemies on a new radar that's activated when someone fires his weapon.

Another new mystical is called Indra’s Eternity, a dagger that can be thrown on the ground to slow down an entire enemy team.

The sidekicks are designed to show off the power of the PlayStation 4 and to give gamers a bigger range of options on the battlefield, with three equipped at a time but only one of them active in combat.

Naughty Dog says that eight multiplayer maps will be offered when Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End launches, with gamers getting a lot of variety from customization options, which are both linked to useful items and cosmetic tweaks.

The studio aims to tweak a lot of multiplayer mechanics based on the way players react to their ideas during the beta stage.

Respawns are not random, with a variety of factors taken into account, and gamers can revive fallen allies, with the number of involved characters and a special gadget improving the time required to finish bringing someone back into the action.

Uncharted four will conclude the narrative of the franchise

The multiplayer beta for the action title will start on December 4 and will end on December 13, featuring two maps and a wide array of both sidekicks and relics for the players to test.

Naughty Dog will deliver a message of the day and surveys to keep in touch with the community, and constant updates are planned for the testing period, although it's unclear whether they will just change mechanics or if they will add new content.

The kill limit for the included mode will be 35, and no battle can last more than 12 minutes, with the average somewhere between 8 and 10.

The size of the beta is over 7 GB, and Naughty Dog says that it will include more content than an average one on the PlayStation 4.

No player data will be carried over to the final version of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

The studio is also experimenting with a range of new modes, but they are unwilling to deliver information about them.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be launched only on the PlayStation 4 on March 18 of next year.  Watch live video from NaughtyDog on www.twitch.tv
