The development team at The Creative Assembly is making solid progress with Total War: Warhammer, and with the game now reaching the alpha state, the studio explains that it will be making a number of changes to the rosters of the various factions, starting off with the reveal that the Bright Wizard will be part of Empire's line-up.

This gives players who want to play as the most human of the factions more options when it comes to magic use in combat, allowing them to use fire in addition to the already revealed celestial wizards.

The official announcement states, "Wizards of the Bright Order are easily recognized for their red robes and wild orange hair and beards. They are ruddy of skin and are frequently adorned with tattoos that writhe with the weaving of their spells. They are of a fiery temperament, their anger capable of changing from a guttering flame to raging inferno in a split second…"

It's unclear whether the Bright Wizard in Total War: Warhammer will only be a battlefield unit or if he is also a hero, meaning that he can move across the strategic map as an agent to enhance order in provinces or take out enemy minions.

The Creative Assembly has been listening to the feedback offered by the Warhammer fan community and the announcements linked to the other factions will probably include the addition of the most popular units that were left out initially.

So far gamers have been able to see the kinds of troops that the Empire, the Dwarves and the Greenskins can field and the two major Lords that each of the faction can use to lead them in battle.

The Creative Assembly has not offered any details about the units that the Vampire Counts will be able to use or about the unique abilities of their leaders.

Total War: Warhammer aims to be as close to the fantasy world as possible

Games Workshop has destroyed and remade the world of its fantasy universe recently, through the End Times event, and the coming video game from The Creative Assembly will allow gamers to fight against the hordes of Chaos.

Total War: Warhammer will make each of the faction units, with players able to choose different strategies during the tactical battles and with a variety of ways to interact with the strategic layer.

The developers have suggested that they already had a set of downloadable content packs planned for the title and that they are interested in delivering two sequels that will further explore the events of the End Times.

The Creative Assembly has promised that magic will be a powerful force on the battlefield, able to turn the tide of an engagement and that the Artificial Intelligence has been tweaked to put up a stiff resistance.

Total War: Warhammer will be launched on April 28 of this year exclusively on the PC.

A Chaos Warriors DLC is offered to all those who buy the game before launch, allowing them to play as the force that is trying to destroy the entire Old World.
